I have literally just finished listening to this and I really enjoyed it. I read/listened to the Woman in Cabin 10 also by Ruth Ware and I really enjoyed that so I had a look to see what other titles she had written.

Murder mystery / thriller
In a Dark, Dark Wood is based around a group of girls who go on a hen weekend to a house in the middle of a wood in the middle of nowhere up north (UK). The main characters are Nora who can’t work out why she has been invited on the hen do in the first place as she went to school with the bride but they hadn’t spoken for 10 years. The initial reason becomes apparent- she is marrying Nora’s ex boyfriend from school… It goes on to become a murder mystery and there is a lot of entanglement between the friends.
Why I liked it
It was a real page turner, I really wanted to find out what happened. The book flits from the present day with Nora in hospital and then back to the beginning when she was invited on the hen do, and then on it. At some point, it catches up with present day and then continues- I really like this style of writing as it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I did find the main character a bit whiney but I did stay on her side throughout the whole book. I would definitely recommend this one- really gripping but not too intense / psychological and it was quite a quick read / listen.
I love books, as a child I devoured them, now I am older and I spend most of my time at work, I don’t have time to read as much as I would like, which is why I love Audible, I listen to books in the car, on my commute etc and they’re great. Most of the books I review on my blog I have actually listened to rather than read, click here if you want to have a free trial of audible and get a free audio book.
I didn’t give this book 5 stars as it isn’t my absolute favourite, but it was a real page turner and I really enjoyed it! Highly recommend!
