I have purchased a few new skincare bits recently and I have slightly changed up my morning and evening routines since I last blogged about my skincare regime. I’ve done a bit of a L’Oreal skincare haul recently and I will be doing a more detailed post once I have had a few weeks to see how I feel about the products, but so far so good and one features in my updated routine…
So first thing in the morning I like to just give my face a quick clean with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water* , that is assuming that I’ve been super good the night before and fully removed my make up… I think we’re all guilty of sleeping with it on now and again aren’t we? If I have a shower in the morning I do like to use a face wash in the shower, at the moment I am trialing the L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Foam Wash* but I will give that a proper review in due course…
Even if I do wash my face in the shower before I usually continue with the Micellar Water in my skincare routine, mainly because however hard I try I usually end up with panda eyes. I really like this product as it’s very simple and kind to the skin and a real winner for me, it’s not astringent or stingy at all. I use this with an oval cotton pad*.
Next up I apply the The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid with my fingers, I rub it over my hands and put it on my face. The ‘acid’ name that this has is a bit misleading. Using this is not at all like putting acid on your face. It’s almost a runny gel and you only need a very small amount and it just feels cool and refreshing on the skin.
This next step is new to my routine but so far so good. The texture of the L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water* is almost gel like and it sinks in to the skin quickly and not much is needed. My only negative on the product so far is that it is slightly perfumed which isn’t my favorite thing for skincare.
My final step is a small amount of the Garnier Moisture Bomb 3 in 1 Day Cream Moisturiser* as a little goes a long way. This is a thin cream, similar in consistency to say a sun cream (without the smell) which I really like in the day as it isn’t too heavy. I am a big fan of facial oils and I was using some day oil in my skincare routine but I found that under make up I then got a lot of pay off from my mascara on to my eyelids and the base wasn’t the best. So I have switched to just putting oil on my skin in the evening.
These are all coincidentally drug store / pharmacy products. I have a few higher end skincare products and I’ve certainly purchased a lot in the past but I do keep coming back to these trusty staples that I know my skin likes and is happy with.
What is an old faithful in your skincare routine?
