If you read my new morning skincare routine a couple of weeks ago, you’ll know that I have been switching things up a bit recently in my skincare routine since I last posted about it last year. There are still some old favourites in there but a few new items added in to the mix…
I start by taking the day off with the Garnier Skin Naturals 2in1 Eye Make-up Remover* and the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water* which I also use in the morning. I use this with an oval cotton pad*. If I feel like it I also wash my face after using these products, at the moment I am trialing the L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Foam Wash* but I will give that a proper review in due course…but often I just use these two products and then move on to the next steps as usually by the time I get to this point I am so tired I just want to get in to bed.
I then use The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane which I really like, I used to use the higher percentage retinoid by the same brand, The Ordinary, but I find these products go out of stock so quickly they are very difficult to get hold of which is super annoying.
This next step is new to my routine but so far so good. The texture of the L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water* is almost gel like and it sinks in to the skin quickly and not much is needed. As I mentioned in my last post, my only negative on the product so far is that it is slightly perfumed which isn’t my favorite thing for skincare but I have been using it for a bit longer now and the perfume hasn’t affected my skin at all. I’m going to be doing a review of my new L’Oreal products soon so look out for that one.
Lastly I am using the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex* which is something I have had in my beauty stash for a while and never used so I’m giving it a go. The pot is quite large and I can’t quite work out whether or not it is for face and body. It’s a very thick and heavy cream and is quite perfumed, which I’m not the biggest fan of, but it sinks in to the skin really well and has been great in the cold winter months where my usually dry skin has gone to ultra ultra dry. I don’t think this will be something I keep in my routine come summer, but at the moment it’s doing the trick. If I don’t fancy something quite as heavy I use the Garnier Moisture Bomb 3 in 1 Day Cream Moisturiser*
What can’t you live without in your evening skincare routine?
